Training Lessons IN SNOWBOARDING from Julia Dujmovits
Some people are simply destined to become great champions and this is also the case with Julia Dujmovits. She became snowboarding Olympic Gold medalist despite of the fact that her home town is in the low lands, so not too many glaciers around to train on. Yet, she found lots of ways to train during the summer or while being on holiday. Today she's happy to share many of her training tips!
SPECIAL TRAINING DURING SUMMERTIME
Listening to Julia Dujmovits talking about her summer training, you start picturing a dream holiday. She describes it like it is the most relaxing thing, you almost feel like asking if you can join her for a week and chill by the ocean in Hawaii. While watching the following clip, please pay attention to the technical details, even though you will be tempted to let yourself be drawn into the pictures. In any case, the urge to check out the locations she is talking about will be very great! Don’t say we didn’t warn you!
ONE OF JULIA'S BIGGEST TRAINING CHALLENGES
In case you forgot, Julia Dujmovits is Austrian and for any European citizen that is one of the top three destinations to go in winter. Julia has plenty of locations to choose from in her own country, so it is not difficult for her to find the best glaciers and train. While filming with her on the day, one of the questions I asked was if weight is a major factor in snowboarding. Julia is very petite, looking almost like a ballerina floating in the air, rather than being stuck on the ground by a big snowboard. That is when we found out a very interesting fact about one of the biggest challenges Julia faces while training, especially in winter.

Julia Dujmovits’ career was full of challenges and she learned a lot of lessons on the way. Maybe one of the most important lessons is that when you are at the top, everyone at that level is 100% capable of the same performance as you. So what is that one thing that makes the difference and makes you stand out among athletes who have trained just as hard and are as talented as you?
